SYDC is a Virginia non-profit public benefit corporation, recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.

The mission of the SYDC is to plan, promote and conduct programs and activities that provide youth exposure to those principles and influences that will be positive forces in shaping them into wholesome and productive students with good self-esteem. Special effort will be made to reach out to youth who are having problems at home and school. Life with Jesus the King will be taught and modeled.

SYDC is a self-governing body of individual Christians, churches and groups that have banded together to address the spiritual, physical, and cultural needs of youth in Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg counties in South Central Virginia.
