This is accomplished by:

  1. Teaching them to respect themselves and others, the golden rule to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is the bedrock of camp philosophy.

  2. Help them find their ‘anti-drug’ for each child is different; dance, song, art, science, public speaking, writing or whatever it is, they are given a chance to showcase it and, in some cases, to discover that they have this talent. Children need to feel good and accomplished, they are given an opportunity to do so positively. ‘Attaboy’.
