Christmas Fundraising Banquet

Celebrating the achievements and growth of our community’s young people.
For several years in the past, SYDC has collaborated with St. Paul’s College, working with the National Youth Sports Program. In recent years, however, we have been holding summer camp for low income and at-risk youth serving from 20-50 families in the tri-county area. SYDC continues to embrace the goal to have a strong presence in our entire jurisdiction of Brunswick, Lunenburg and Mecklenburg counties.
In 1994, two additional pastors and their congregations pledged support for the organization. They were Reverend Waverly E. Brown, Sr. Pastor of the Rosebud Baptist Church and Reverend Dr. Herman Lundy, Pastor of the Flat Rock Baptist Church, both of Lunenburg County. This addition would prove to be critical for the life of the organization and helped prepare SYDC for the reality of the loss of its Founder and other ministers who moved out of the area to serve larger congregations.

Legal Composition:

In 1994, the organization formulated its first Constitution and Bylaws.

Membership:

Membership has involved organizations and individuals from all three counties.
